DAY 01

First steps in the kingdom of Champasak, southern Laos

Welcoming by the guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time and dinner with the guide in a local restaurant. It will be the opportunity to get to know each other.

DAY 02

Trek to the mysterious Bolaven plateau

On-road transfer to the breathtaking Tad Fane waterfalls (200m high) to start a trek through the coffee and tea plantations. Then, jungle trek towards the TadGneuang and DaneSinexay waterfalls. This immersion in tropical nature will lead to unique and unexplored points of view. In the afternoon, visit of ethnic villages and arrival at the Tad Lo waterfall where elephants bath.

DAY 03

Trek through jungle, ethnic villages and lost waterfalls

Day trekking in the heart of the Bolaven plateau and meetings with local people of different villages of Katu tribes, and Nge. Ford crossings, rice paddies, river-side crops, dense tropical forest, huge or lost waterfalls in the countryside, mountains, viewpoints ... and a lunch-bathing break in a well-deserved waterfall.

Activities : 4-5h hiking

DAY 04

Local meetings in artisan villages

Meeting day with Katu ethnic weavers. Discovery of local weaving techniques and the possibility to purchase unique scarves hand-woven by the women of the village. The next stop will be at the beautiful waterfalls of Phaxouam, before crossing fields of rubber trees and other crops. Arrival at your hotel in the afternoon, free time to visit the city.

DAY 05

Ruins of the Khmer temple of Vat Phou

Get on board of a local boat to go down the Mekong to Champasak, the ancient capital of the south. Visit of the fabulous site of Vat Phou, a temple on the mountain dated from the pre-Angkorian period. Departure for the extreme south of Laos, in the area of the 4000 islands. Its name is due to the fact that the Mekong becomes extremely wide and hosts many islands. On your way, visit of a pre-Angkorian site named Vat Tomô. Arrival at Done Khong.

DAY 06

The island of Done Khong by bike

Relaxing bike ride on Khong Island (the largest of the Mekong islands). It's still a little paradise away from the world where people are particularly laid-back and very smiling. They like to share their time between fishing, rice paddies and palm sugar making. It is a rural life full of harmony that you will discover by bike. Back to the hotel and free afternoon

DAY 07

Bike tour of Done Deth

Departure by local boat to the peaceful islands of Done Khone and Done Deth which were formerly the terminals of the only railway built in Laos. Bike ride to the waterfalls of Lippi. Canoe ride on the Mekong to meet the freshwater dolphins. It is an extremely rare specy that you may see if you are lucky. End of the day on the island of Done Khone.

Activities: 1h30 cruising + 1h canoeing + cycling

DAY 08

Mekong waterfalls and handicraft villages

Departure by boat to the Cambodian border to contemplate the waterfalls of the Mekong "Khone Phaphèng". Here the Mekong is roaring and sumptuous. Way back to Pakse by the road. On the way, visit of a village of basket weavers and mask sculptors. Arrival by late afternoon in Pakse.

DAY 09

Flight to Cambodia and discovery of Angkor

Free morning until your transfer to the airport for your flight to Cambodia. Flight to Siem Reap. Settlement in a small charming hotel, located in a nice area of ​​Siem Reap. A first crossing of Angkor reveals the immensity of this megacity, the huge reservoirs of the so-called hydraulic city and its beautiful temples, Ta Prohm especially, invaded by trees which dominate the site with their silver dress.

DAY 10

Local encounters in the heart of the rice fields

Walk on a forest path of Kbal Spean dotted with rocks, large trees and lianas to the carved bed of a "river thousand lingas". Way down on the sacred mountain of Angkor by foot. Visit of the Banteay Srei temple "citadel of women", known for the richness of its iconography. In the middle of the afternoon, visit of a farm village and meeting with its inhabitants. This evening in the rice fields will remain unforgettable.

DAY 11

Angkor Wat, a marvel of architecture

On-road transfer to the site of Beng Mealea, the quarry where was extracted the stones used for the local monuments. Visit of Beng Mealea temple, barely cleared from the jungle that imprisoned it. Way back to Siem Reap and visit of Angkor Wat. A well studied way allows you to appreciate in a certain tranquillity this masterpiece which reveals the Khmer architecture at its peak, its buildings with the perfect design and its galleries adorned with the famous Apsaras.

DAY 12

Boating on Tonle Sap Lake and its hilltop villages

Walk through the forest of Angkor Thom, walled town open to the cardinal points and built around the temple of Bayon. This fascinating labyrinth of towers and shrines presents feats of arms and scenes of life. Discovery of the Tonle Sap Lake which, in the rainy season, enters the land immersing the high-pitched habitat and the semi-aquatic forest of Kompong Phluk. In the evening, show of the circus school of the association Phare.
