DAY 01
Mekong cruise on a privatized boat
Departure at 9am from Houay Xai for the first day of cruise on the Mekong by private boat. Cruises in Laos are the ideal way of transportation to make your way through the mountains covered by vast forests. From the right to the left bank, you will explore different villages and meet several ethnic minorities. You will stop twice during this day to visit local villages. Arrival in Pakbeng by the end of the day.

DAY 02
Cruise on the Mekong and Pak Ou caves
Departure at 8.30 am from Pakbeng for the second day of cruise on the Mekong river. Depending on the pace of the boat, and if you have enough time, you will stop to visit a beautiful ethnic village where the inhabitants weave their own scarves from cotton and silk. Laotian lunch on board. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Buddha caves, also known as "Pak Ou caves". Arrival in Luang Prabang by late afternoon.

DAY 01
Cruise on the Mekong
At 6:30 am, your guide will drop you at the pier. A Western breakfast will be served on board. You will stop to visit the famous PakOu caves. They host thousands of Buddha statues. Typical Laotian lunch on board. In the afternoon, depending of the pace of the boat, you will have the opportunity to visit a village where locals master the art of weaving cotton and silk. Arrival in Pakbeng by late afternoon before sunset.

DAY 02
Cruise on the Mekong
The boat will leave Pakbeng at 07:00am and starts its peaceful trip on the Mekong River. From the right to the left bank, the landscapes are beautiful. You will observe the life of local fishermen and can see different villages of ethnic minorities. Typical Laotian lunch on board. If you have time, you will stop to visit an ethnic Hmong or Tay Lue village. Arrival at Houay Xai by the end of the day before 5:00pm.
