Guided cultural tour of the city by private vehicle: morning market, Royal Palace, main temples Vat Mai, Vat Sene, Vat Xiengthong, Vat Visoun. Walk through local markets and shopping street. Climb up the 328 steps of Mount Phousi to admire the magnificent panorama. Visit of the night market.

Hiking to the KuangSi waterfalls

At sunrise, volunteers can attend the traditional ceremony of almsgiving to the monks (without guide). Then, departure by minivan on the mountain tracks to reach and visit a village of the Hmong ethnic group. Hike in the nature for 3h until the springs of the impressive Kuang Si waterfalls located in the middle of the jungle. Afternoon free at the waterfalls, swimming, visit of the bear sanctuary.

Cruise on the Mekong River & PakOu caves

Beautiful traditional slow boat cruise on the Mekong towards the Pak Ou Caves. The Mekong is dotted with large cliffs of limestone rock dug by monsoon rains and floods of the river. Visit the sanctuary caves of PakOu hosting thousands of Buddha statutes. Lao-lao tasting, the rice alcohol made in a small specialized village. Way back to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.

Landscapes of karstic mountains and local markets

Scenery of fabulous mountains along the road rising up to 1,200 meters above sea level. Visits of villages and local markets, including the vegetable market in Phoukhoune. Arrival in Vang Vieng in the afternoon and boat trip on the NamSong River. This small town is located in an exceptional setting of rice fields delimited by karstic mountains.

Road to the capital and lunch at Nam Ngeum Lake

Discovery of Tham Chang, one of the largest caves in the region. Then, departure to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. On the way, visit of a fish market, the beautiful Nam Ngeum Lake and a salt extraction site. Arrival in Vientiane by the end afternoon.

Cultural tour of Vientiane and its temples

Visit of the Laotian capital and its many temples: Vat Sisaket, HoPraKeo Temple of the Emerald Buddha, That Luang's Golden Stupa, Patuxay Arch of Triumph and Vat Simeuang, which is the most religiously animated of the city. Discovery of Thongkhankham vegetables market and walk along the Mekong river at the end of the day. It is the place where local people meet at sunset.
