DAY 01

Arrival in Bangkok

Arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you are welcomed by your local French speaking guide, then private transfer to your hotel in Bangkok. Free day to rest.

DAY 02

Cultural visit of Bangkok

Early in the morning, visit of the highlight of the capital, the fabulous Royal Palace of Bangkok and its royal chapel which hosts the Emerald Buddha. You also visit the Wat Pho, known for its large and sublime sleeping Buddha. After lunch, along the Chao Phraya River known as the "Kings River", you will enjoy a long-tail boat ride on the canals (klongs) of Bangkok, and stop at the majestic Wat Arun.

DAY 03

Chiang Mai discovery

Flight to Chiang Mai in the morning. You take the curvy road that climbs the mountain overlooking the city to reach the very discrete Wat Pha Lat, crossed by a small stream ending in a waterfall. Then, continue to the famous Wat Phra that Doi Suthep. Climb its 309 steps guarded by its flamboyant nagas. The panoramic view above the city and its splendid golden chedi will dazzle you. Discover the Wat Phra Singh, one of the most iconic temples in the city.

DAY 04

Encounter with the tea leaf harvesters

You are invited to join the tea leaf pickers with their wicker basket and observe the processing of tea leaves according to ancient traditions. Enjoy the drink of your labor, before lunch in the plantation. Then, visit of the Lisu Lodge, a community project to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Lisu Mountain tribe. Learn more about their culture during a village tour and traditional dance party.

DAY 05

White temple & Thaï countryside

You take the road towards Chiang Rai province. On the way, enjoy a stop at the hot spring of Thaweesin, before visiting the famous White Temple and its surreal architecture. Then, you continue to the Black House, an architectural structure just as surreal. Then, go green with the visit of the tea plantation of Choui Fong. Enjoy their delicious oolong tea while admiring the view above the plantation.

DAY 06

Mysterious Golden triangle

You visit the unique and famous temple of the monks horsemen who, every day at dawn, gallop proudly on small horses to collect alms. Volunteers can attend to these offerings. Continue your way to Sob Ruak, symbolic place of the famous Golden Triangle and visit the Hall of Opium. It's time to board your E-Tan to get to your lunch spot in the heart of nature. Then, take the road to Chiang Khong.

DAY 07

Mekong river cruise in Laos

Entry in Laos and cruise day on the Mekong in a private slow boat. The river is the ideal way of travelling while enjoying the views on mountains covered with vast jungles. Visit of two tribe villages, one Hmong and one Lao Loum. Arrival in Pakbeng by the end of the day. Settlement at the hotel where you can enjoy the sunset on the Mekong.

DAY 08

Mekong cruise & PakOu caves

The river adventure by traditional slow boat continues towards Luang Prabang. Along the way, visit of a fishing tribe village and the PakOu cave that host thousands of Buddha statues adorned with red and gold tones. Arrival in Luang Prabang by the end of the afternoon.

DAY 09

Visit of Luang Prabang, its temples and markets

Guided cultural tour of the city by private vehicle: morning market, Royal Palace, main temples Vat Mai, Vat Sene, Vat Xiengthong, Vat Visoun. Walk through local markets and the shopping street. Climb up the 328 steps of Mount Phousi to admire the magnificent panorama. Visit of the night market.

DAY 10

Right bank of the Mekong River & KuangSi Waterfall

Crossing the Mekong by boat. On the opposite bank, away from tourists, the atmosphere is totally different. Visit of a potery village as well as the old temples Vat Xiengmène, Vat Chomphet and Vat Longkhoun. In the afternoon, transfer to the breathtaking KuangSi waterfalls. Free time in this heaven-like place, relax, swim in the turquoise water, exploration of the surrounding jungle or visit of the bear rescue center.

DAY 11

Enjoy the charming city of Nongkhiaw

You leave Luang Prabang taking the time to visit few villages of the Tay Dam and Khamu tribes. Arrival in the early afternoon at the small town of Ban NongKhiaw located in an paradise-like setting. Free time to enjoy the view on the surrounding mountains from the terrace of your resort along the river, or enjoy a drink in a restaurant. The volunteers can climb to the top of the mountain offering a 360 degree view.

Itinerary : Luang Prabang – Pakmong– NongKhiaw

DAY 12

Mountains, small villages and wooden boat ride

Traditional wooden boat ride on the NamOu River. The landscapes are beautiful with their rocky mountains covered with jungle. You visit a village of weavers and meet Laotian fishermen. Then you go down the river to dock at the small village of Ban Muang Ngoi. You visit the village and the surroundings before taking your boat back to Nongkhiaw in the late afternoon.

Activities : 50mn boating + 1h30 walking

DAY 13

Relaxing time & way back to Luang Prabang

Free time in the morning to enjoy the beautiful rocky mountain scenery from your resort along the river, to sleep or to visit the morning market and stroll through the small town of Nongkhiaw. On the way, you visit a village of weavers. Departure in the early afternoon and way back to Luang Prabang. Settlement at your hotel at the end of the day.
