Luang Prabang, its temples and markets

Guided cultural tour of the city by private vehicle: morning market, Royal Palace, main temples Vat Mai, Vat Sene, Vat Xiengthong, Vat Visoun. Walk through local markets and shopping street. Climb up the 328 steps of Mount Phousi to admire the magnificent panorama. Visit of the night market.

Elephant encounter & KuangSi waterfall

Visit of the elephant camp "Elephant village camp", with these huge animals. The mahouts will explain their job and their very particular relationship with the pachyderms. A bareback ride on the back of an elephant is a unique experience ! Then, you will reach the vertiginous KuangSi waterfall. Free time in this heavenly place to swim in the turquoise water, explore the jungle or visit the bear rescue centre.

Villages, handicraft & old temples

Crossing of the Mekong. On the opposite bank of Luang Prabang, the atmosphere, very far from the tourists, is totally different. You will visit a potter village where you will learn local techniques with a craftsman. He will explain to you where they find the clay, how they process it, as well as their modeling techniques and then baking, ... In the afternoon, you will visit the ancient temples Vat Xiengmène, Vat Chomphet and Vat Longkhoun.

Cruise on the Mekong River & PakOu caves

Beautiful traditional slow boat cruise on the Mekong towards the Pak Ou Caves. The Mekong is dotted with large cliffs of limestone rock dug by monsoon rains and floods of the river. Visit the sanctuary caves of PakOu hosting thousands of Buddha statutes. Lao-lao tasting, the rice alcohol made in a small specialized village. Way back to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
