Tadsae Waterfalls Luang Prabang, Laos

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

To make sure that this activity included in our programs is still a unique amazing lifetime experience, a part of our team at ORLA Tours went to Tadsae Waterfalls for a thorough inspection of the site. Well... we were not disappointed !

Tadsae Waterfalls Luang Prabang, Laos

They are located about fifteen kilometers from Luang Prabang heading south on the road to Vientiane. The waterfall called Tadsae remains a must to do in Luang Prabang from August to December when the turquoise water is abundant. During the other months the flow is almost non-existent.

We cruised up the NamKhan River by local boat (10 min) to reach the falls. When we arrived on the site the first thing we saw and which you cannot miss, it is the elephants !! We experienced a bath riding on the elephant with the mahout in the main pool. It was a great moment of emotions.

After this, we did a trek along to the different pools of the falls. About 1 km of jungle trek in the wilderness reached the source where we were just alone in the heart of this little paradise. The first pool is quite busy by Lao and westerns but as soon as we left the main area we got completely remote in the jungle.

This idyllic setting lends itself as much to a group of friends as to a family of any age looking for an immersion in a small paradise on earth. After our trek, the stomach calling, we decided to go back to the center of the site and attracted by the smell of grilled meat, we sat on the terrace of a little hut overlooking the fall. On the menu green papaya salad, sticky rice, grilled chicken, fish ..., and other local dishes, Lao beers, as well as the whole table feasted.

Enjoy the pictures and contact us for experiencing it by yourself during your trip to Laos with ORLA TOURS.
